If your child lives within the map boundaries, designated in purple below, they will be eligible to be an East or West walker. Any students or families living outside of this purple boundary will have three options for transportation: car rider, bus rider or daycare. We understand that the car line is not always convenient. However, the safety of our students is and will always be the top priority at Grove Valley. Cars should not be parked anywhere along Bloomfield Place if children are walking home.
Students living within the designated walker areas of the Grove will receive a new dismissal tag. This will alert teachers and staff that they are eligible to be walking to and/or from school. If a student does not have this special tag, they will NOT be walking home on Monday. They will be redirected to the car line, as they do not meet the requirements of a true East or West walker. This will be in effect through the remainder of the year. Our secretaries and administrators will be checking every labeled "walker" to determine if their address is within the walking boundary lines.
Due to the young age and smaller stature of our Pre-K students, we ask that ALL Pre-K students be picked up and dropped off in the car line or by a daycare facility. There will be no Pre-K walkers or Pre-K parent walk ups in the morning or the afternoon.
