About Us
Meet Our New Principal
Dear Grove Valley Families,
My name is Shareen Smith, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Grove Valley Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead alongside great staff, students, and families! I have been a Grove Valley mom since 2019 and am excited to build even more relationships within the community.
I began my career in education 14 years ago. Most recently, I served as the 4th-grade assistant principal at the 4th and 5th Grade Center. Before that, I was an assistant principal in Oklahoma City. Prior to becoming an administrator, I was a classroom teacher in Deer Creek for 11 years. I’ve had the privilege to teach English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Special Education.
My husband and I have two sons. Calvin is ten and in the 4th grade. Henry is seven and in the 1st grade. As a family, we enjoy spending time on the lake, movie nights, and traveling. Personally, I enjoy reading, watching college football, live music, and DIY-ing projects around my house.
A school and community partnership is necessary for a thriving school environment. I look forward to strengthening this partnership as I begin this journey alongside all of you.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I look forward to a fantastic rest of the school year and many more great years to come.
Sincerely,
Shareen Smith
